The Partnership for Defense Innovation (PDI) and DefenseSecurity Technology Accelerator (DSTA) opened a satellite office in the Partners 1 Building at the Centennial Campus at NC State University (NCSU) in Raleigh, NC on March 1, 2008. North Carolina State University's Centennial Campus is a research and advanced technology community where university, industry and government partners interact in multidisciplinary programs to generate and share ideas, understand needs and develop technology solutions.

DSTA is a statewide innovation asset designed to accelerate the formation and growth of young technology companies and assist in the development and commercialization of dual use technologies focused on military and commercial needs. The mission of PDI and DSTA is to create a statewide program for business acceleration by leveraging military and corporate technology assets. With the opening of an office in Raleigh, DSTA seeks to further extend its outreach across the state. Joan P. H. Myers has joined PDI as a Director, Special Programs. She is the representative at the PDI Centennial Campus Office.
Research Triangle Park (RTP) has been and continues to be a model for innovation, education, and economic development that has been applied around the world. It is ranked among the largest and most successfully growing parks globally. The mission is to match technology developed in the RTP to defense and security applications for military, as well as, commercial use.
