Fusion Grant
The DSTA Fusion Grant is funded by the State of North Carolina to help businesses that are in the defense and security sector. The grant is designed to assist in improving the success rate of early-stage defense and security technology companies. The grant assists a limited group of entrepreneurs and innovators that are accepted into and join the DSTA program with developing dual-use technologies and new business in the areas of defense and security. The grants range from $10,000 to $50,000 per company and are designed to enhance the survival rate of such early stage ventures while increasing the success rate.
PDI Revolving Loan
The PDI Revolving Loan Program handles requests for operating funds up to $75,000. The loan can be used for operating capital, capital acquisition and improvement (i.e., machinery and equipment), and land acquisitions. The minimum loan amount is $25,000. Funds are granted based on the applicant’s ability to pay and the soundness of the business opportunity. Businesses meeting the following criteria will receive funding priority:
- Revenue of $1,000,000 or less in a calendar year
- Creation or retention of tax paying jobs within economically distressed counties in NC
- Fifty or less employees
