Net Centric Services (NCS) designs and manufactures cryptographic data communications products to provide turnkey
engineering and communications solutions in data, voice, video, converged networks and wireless. NCS develops and
modifies secure tactical wireless communications equipment.
Olivia Tower is a rapid deployment platform that can be fully integrated with a variety of communication, optical
and networking equipment. The platform is highly mobile and deployable with minimal personnel for quick movements
around the battle space or borders.
Signet Technologies is a security integration company that designs, installs and services integrated security solutions. It creates new technologies through innovative use of existing security products.
Virtual Heroes is an advanced learning technology company that leverages simulation and digital gaming to accelerate learning, increase proficiency and reduce training cost. These technologies include intelligent tutoring, artificial intelligence, biometrics, optics and natural language processing.
To be selected for DSTA, each client company completed an application process that evaluated business potential,
technical merit, commercial viability, quality of the management team, and potential economic impact to the State
of North Carolina. Application materials were reviewed by the DSTA management team and an application review
committee comprised of industry and business professionals.
Client companies will receive assistance with developing a successful business and specific expertise in developing
products and services for dual-use defense and security markets. The value-added services provided by DSTA include
one-on-one coaching, introductions to potential customers, on-site lab space and equipment, and access to a network
of expertise in the defense and security industries.
DSTA is based upon a proven model of business incubation. The National Business Incubation Association reports that
businesses which participate in an incubator program have a success rate of approximately 80% over a five-year
period, compared to a success rate of 20% for non-incubated businesses. In addition, more than 84 percent of
incubator businesses locate within 5 miles of the incubator site after graduating from the incubator program.

About Defense Security Technology Accelerator
Headquartered in Fayetteville, NC the DSTA is an incubation program that will assist entrepreneurs with the rapid
development (8 – 18 months) of dual use defense and security technology solutions to meet the military’s technology
needs, as well as private commercial demands. The DSTA will assist with technology, prototype and product
development as well as assist entrepreneurs with access to customers and contacts, guidance for finding capital and
professional coaching.
