DSTA Announces New General Manger

Fayetteville, NC –The Defense and Security Technology Accelerator (DSTA), a new statewide innovation asset, recently hired Scott Perry as its General Manager. Mr. Perry will develop and manage all aspects of the start-up of the incubator as well as day-to-day operations. Scott spent more than 20 years with U.S. Army Special Operations Forces, including assignments throughout Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. A significant portion of his career was based at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC. In his years in defense contracting, Scott became well versed in procurement, contracting, new business acquisition, strategic partnerships and strategic planning. Before joining the DSTA, Scott worked at SYTEX – Lockheed Martin for five years in various capacities, including management of special training programs. Headquartered in Fayetteville, NC the DSTA is an incubation program that will assist entrepreneurs with the rapid development (8 – 18 months) of dual use defense and security technology solutions to meet the military’s technology needs, as well as private commercial demands. The DSTA will assist with technology, prototype and product development as well as assist entrepreneurs with access to customers and contacts, guidance for finding capital and professional coaching.
