Fayetteville, N.C. (March 24, 2009)- Scott Perry, President of the Partnership for Defense Innovation (PDI), received a warm reception Monday night as he briefed the Fayetteville City Council.  Perry discussed PDI’s plans for the expansion of their WiFi Lab and the jobs being created in Cumberland County.

PDI is a tax exempt 501 c(3) organization which promotes economic development.  PDI operates and manages both the Defense and Security Technology Accelerator (DSTA), a business accelerator that assists entrepreneurs and innovators with developing new business and dual-use technologies in a rapid (8-18 month) timeline, as well as the SOF Wireless Lab & Testbed.

To date, PDI/DSTA has engaged with 11 client companies, 4 affiliate companies as well as numerous ally companies, resulting in approximately 150 jobs, with an average salary of $76,500,  as well as substantial community and state reinvestment.  In short PDI continues to create employment and economic opportunity in the defense and security sector by coupling the broad technology resources of the state of NC to the vast military assets throughout North Carolina.
