FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wearable Antenna Technologies, Inc. Joins Local Business Accelerator Program

Fayetteville, N.C. (April 20, 2009)- The Defense and Security Technology Accelerator (DSTA), a  business accelerator that assists entrepreneurs with the rapid development of dual-use defense and security technology solutions, announced today that Wearable Antenna Technologies (WAT),  has been accepted as a non-resident client company and recently moved into an office at the DSTA facility in downtown Fayetteville.

Wearable Antenna Technologies Inc is a veteran owned and operated company dedicated to developing products for the safety, security and operational ability of the United States Military. Their primary initial manufactured product is the Tactical Vest Antenna System (TVAS), a highly responsive antenna system that integrates seamlessly with US military body armor vests, such as the Modular Tactical Vest (MTV), the Interceptor Outer Tactical Vest (IOTV) and the Full Spectrum Battle Equipment II (FSBEII).

Helping to conceal the identity of the radio operator, who provides the crucial link between ground troops, support units, aircraft and quick reaction forces; WAT improves troop mobility by reducing the amount of gear attached to body armor, helping to increase the mobility of the mounted and dismounted Marines, Sailors and Soldiers.

Wearable Antenna Technologies is just one of several client companies within the DSTA program. According to their CEO, Bobby Dennis, Wearable Antenna joined the DSTA program to gain assistance with the development of WAT’s image in the market. Also, “DSTA can help WAT network with other organizations that otherwise would be hard to get your foot in the door, such as universities.”   As a business accelerator, DSTA assists entrepreneurs and innovators with developing new business and dual-use technologies in a rapid (8-18 month) timeline.  The focus is on both military and commercial needs in the areas of defense, security and intelligence. DSTA’s center of attention is on fostering collaborative efforts, leveraging regional strengths and building connections between the Fayetteville area, Research Triangle Park and other centers of innovation throughout the state of North Carolina.  DSTA brings together the military, entrepreneurs, universities, innovators and technology companies to generate and share ideas, understand needs and develop technology solutions.
