North Carolina State University Engages in Talks with PDI
Archangel Armor’s president, Paul Carter, showcased the center piece of Archangel’s line on Tuesday, April 28, for members from NCSU, including Tom White, Director, Economic Development Partnership and Alice Warren, Assistant Vice Chancellor-McKimmon Center for Continuing Education. Carter displayed the Internal Frame Load Bearing Armor, a piece of body armor designed to provide better air circulation and help to eliminate back injuries, taking the main weight off of the shoulders and placing it on the hips. The visit by NSCU staff also included a briefing of PDI, given by PDI business developer Randy McLean, and a tour of the PDI facility.
PDI and NCSU discussed teaming together in order for PDI to utilize the University’s extension, teaching, research and technology transfer capabilities in order to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of client companies within the DSTA program.
NCSU delivers significant economic and social benefits through provision of knowledge and technology-based solutions to government, industry and the private sector. Funded research combined with teaching and extension produces innovations, which when transferred and commercialized, results in knowledge and wealth creation. Results include more competitive manufacturers, expanded resident corporate R&D, more local high-growth companies and increased technology commercialization.
