research labs

A prototype and testing laboratory is on-site at the center. The lab is a place where entrepreneurs and innovators can develop their ideas, build prototypes, test and get feedback on technology and products, all while gaining a better understanding of the military’s technology needs.
The server rooms and laboratories are outfitted with server racks, overhead cable trays, and a series of overhead twist lock plugs. The combination of stacked server rooms, networked labs, and 40,000 feet of cable enable a company to design a variety of configured networks for applications, development, and testing. This allows for constant adaptation of laboratory configurations as needed for emerging technologies.
All laboratories and server rooms are on dedicated circuits with individual breaker boxes in each room. A grounding/bonding plan is in place that ties all racks and cable trays to #6 AWG stranded ground throughout. The building is cooled with over 62 tons of cooling. All laboratories and server rooms have dedicated units and thermostats. The remaining offices are cooled and heated through 8 separately controlled quads.
Other Lab Spaces
The unique benefit of the prototype and testing laboratory is that it is a place to gain an understanding of military technology needs and to share ideas and information where military access, communication and collaborations are the focus. In addition, the center’s lab offers services designed to guide and assist client companies through the prototyping and technology development process. It has workbenches for entrepreneurs and innovators to build and assemble prototypes and products and will provide a communications network backbone. The prototype and testing lab assists the design, development, fabrication, and testing of new product prototypes for the military and dual use technology.
The infrastructure of the building was designed to accommodate the needs of technology companies and the development and testing of technology solutions. The building is networked with over 40,000 feet of Cat 6 cable with two stacked server rooms connected by 2 six inch sleeves. The server rooms and laboratories are all outfitted with server racks, overhead cable trays, and a series of overhead twist lock plugs. The combination of stacked server rooms, networked labs 40,000 cubic feet of cable enable a company to design a variety of configured networks for applications, development and testing.
